Additional Information from Tournament Director

  • I have gotten a few questions about the schedule. It is not finalized yet, but here is some information I can give you now.
    • We have expanded this year's tourney to 16 Teams. It's a lot of fun with that many teams.
    • But because of that and the ice time I have, this tourney is a Bracket style tourney. There is no pool play.
    • Every team will play 4 games. 1 Friday, 2 Saturday, and 1 Sunday.
    • The earliest game Friday is 4:15pm and last game starts at 9pm
      • Your next game times will depend on whether you win or lose.
    • Highlights:

    • Please make sure you pass this along to your parents/spectators: Zero Tolerance for bad/poor spectator behavior. Last year I had problems with parents in the stands, including a fight. I am just not going to deal with that this year. The game will be stopped, and you will be asked to leave before games resume. I don't care who was "right" or who "started" it, I'm just going to boot everyone.
    • 75 minutes of ice time per game, games will be 14-minute stop time periods.
    • This is a bracket style tournament, no pool play, so every game will be played to win or loss.
      • If game is tied at end of regulation
        • 4 minute, run time OT. 3v3
        • Shootout after that
    • Because of the potential for OT in every game we run the risk of longer games. Therefore...
      • there will be no timeouts for Friday and Saturday games. One Timeout per team for games on Sunday only.
      • Run time will start in any game with a goal differential of 5 or more after the first period.
      • Make sure your team is prepared to take the ice early if the game prior to yours gets done early.
