History

Jefferson Hockey represents a long and proud tradition of dedication and excellence that starts with Pride & Hustle!

Jefferson Hockey began its program in 1971 with a vision to develop and maximize every player’s individual skill and potential, teach proper positional play, hockey strategies and teamwork and instill an unmatched work ethic.  The program has worked to develop an expectation and value system to consistently practice hard, skate hard every second of every shift, win every individual battle, share the puck, play proper position and team systems, be modest, respectful and supportive of your teammates.

The teams of the seventies laid the groundwork and set the tone for future success of the program.  In our 35 years of existence, Jefferson has been to the state high school tournament 16 times, winning five state championships, three third place championships and one consolation championship.  Jefferson High School holds the second longest unbeaten streak in state history – 60 games.  Jefferson alumni have distinguished themselves in college and professional hockey, with 136 division I and III players and 17 professional players.  Our youth teams have realized numerous academic and athletic achievements, including many championships throughout the program’s history.

You are a member of one of the premier hockey programs in the state of Minnesota.  As a player, coach or parent that is a part of this proud tradition, you have the opportunity and responsibility to continue this tradition of excellence for today and tomorrow’s youth.

Continued dedication by our players, parents and coaches to the development of the total student athlete at Jefferson will enable us to succeed in the future and will help us continue to earn the respect of the entire hockey community both on and off the ice.
