Try Hockey for Free

ABOUT TRY HOCKEY FOR FREE

Bloomington's Try Hockey for Free program is part of the larger USA Hockey's Try Hockey program. This program is designed to provide youth hockey associations with a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport. USA Hockey has close to 500 locations offering this unique opportunity to kids nationwide.

Jefferson Youth Hockey Association invites Bloomington and Richfield local youth, ages 4 to 9 (public, private, or home schooled), to experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics in a fun, safe environment, for FREE! No previous skating or hockey experience is required, and equipment will be available for use the day of the event.

DAY OF THE EVENT: WHAT TO EXPECT

On the day of the event, there will be coaches and volunteers to help get children equipped and on the ice. Equipment will be provided, however if your child has skates and a helmet, please bring them. Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the session to allow time for equipment fitting.

Your athlete will be on the ice with certified coaches and instructors who are there to help players of all abilities and show them how FUN hockey is for everyone. Coaches will focus on fundamentals and games that will introduce skaters to hockey basics.
