The Jefferson Pee Wee C team traveled east to the Sibley Hockey Tournament in late January. Their first game was against Anoka, Pee Wee C, where Jefferson skated hard and won the game 6 to 1. The next game was vs. home town favorite Sibley Generals. Jefferson won this game 4 to 1. Looking forward to their final game, the Pee Wee C’s expected to be playing in the Championship Game. Unfortunately, due to the way in which the tournament was structured and because Jefferson did not have a shut out game in their first two games, Pee Wee C ended up playing for third place. In the final game, and 2nd against the Sibley Generals, Jefferson finally got their shutout, winning 2 to 0, bringing home the third place trophy.
Many thanks to the tremendous efforts of the coaching staff: Todd Goedderz, Daryn Krumm and Kyle Swenson and the hard work of team mates: Erik Beckers, Dylan Burns, Nick Goedderz, Will Harris, Keegan Jackish, Charlie Jamieson, Austin Krumm, Ben Krumm, Doug McClain IV, Gabe Pilla, Jarrid Pizel, Evan Redepenning, Haakon Svendsen and Nate Schmidt.
With high hopes of taking their third tournament championship, the Jefferson Pee Wee C ran in to some good local competition. In the first game vs Hopkins, Jefferson scored 10 seconds into the game causing a roar of support from the home crowd. Unfortunately by the end of the second period Jefferson was down to Hopkins 2 to 3. Then, at 11:44 in the 3rd period, Jefferson Pee Wee C tied the game. The battle was really on until at 3:57 Jefferson made the last and winning score of the game, finishing off Hopkins 4 to 3. In game two against Shakopee Pee Wee C, Jefferson ran into some tough, home town competition. It was a spirited battle with both teams playing fast and hard. At 1:39 in the second period one of the Saber players put up a high, flat angled shot that somehow worked its way into the net. With Shakopee up 0 - 1, Jefferson could not break the Sabers Goalie, who had a fantastic game, leading Jefferson Pee Wee C to their first tournament loss of the season. In their 3rd game, Jefferson Pee Wee C handily defeated Faribault Pee Wee C 9 – 0, finishing 3rd overall in the Saber Paw Classic Tournament. Though out the tournament the Pee Wee C team again showed that individual effort paired with tenacious team work and strong coaching from the bench, leads to success.

It was a beautiful day and great first game played on an outside rink at the Coon Rapids Tournament. It was close the entire game. Nick Abby scored a goal with just a couple minutes left in regulation time to tie it up and send it into overtime. It was Mark Longhenry who scored the winning goal with just a few seconds left in on the overtime clock for the squirt white to get a victory over North Metro Pirates, 2 to 1.
Our second game was against Minneapolis Black back indoors. Two goals by Tyler Gorans and two goals by Tyler Noble gave us a 4-0 win to move us into the championship game against Armstrong. It was a tight game against Armstrong with great defense from both teams. Armstrong came out on top 0-2 giving the Bloomington Squirt White team a second place finish.
The Bantam B2 started the tournament with a 5-4 overtime win against OMG. They went on to beat Buffalo and gave Wayzata their first loss in almost 2 months, to win 1st place in the Paul Martin Division. The team was not able to repeat a win over EP Red and ended up Runner Up Champions in the Elk River Classic Tournament.
Congratulations to the Bantam A team for their Championship win in Detroit Lakes
